Chitrahaar special
I have been requested to serve as a replacement in the bollywood dance
for the international night. All these years I have hated Chitrahaar but
now I have to be part of one - the saving grace is that I like the song
- Kajra rey. A group of 4 guys and 4 girls would do the usual hip
shaking routine on the stage. I don't get the sense of showcasing a
choreography when 98% of the audience can neither understand the lyrics
nor associate the meaning of the songs - wouldnt a classical performance
have been better ?
I did that because I greatly respect the person who asked me to
participate. She is quite senior and is very nice lady - helpful, caring
- like a mother to all the desis at the school. Besides the bollywood
routine there would be performances by people from other countries - I
cant wait to see the dance by a national of Benin (!!)
Course work and placement activities have kept me busy for all of last
and most part of this semester. Now that I am nearing graduation, its
time to bring out my rotting social networking skills. I had an
interesting observation about social networking in US compared to India,
but I'll reserve that for another post.
